How To Get Your Biological Clock To Help You Lose More Weight

Circadian rhythms are one of the most overlooked aspects of fat loss, yet they can singlehandedly make or break your body transformation goals.

So here is how to optimize circadian rhythms for faster fat loss:

1. Eat at the same times every day: Not only will this future proof your diet from disorganization, but it helps your body optimize fat burning hormonal output through better circadian entraining. In fact, fat loss research shows that people who have a regular eating schedule, lose more weight.

2. Have a regular workout pattern: Similar to eating at the same times, exercising at the same times will provide for the right circadian entraining environment. Even better, you will be better prepared psychologically if you exercise at the same times.

3. Readjust your caffeine intake: Many people are addicted to extremely high levels of caffeine. Maybe you are addicted to caffeine. Unfortunately, this can disrupt sleep without you even knowing about it. So taper off your caffeine intake until you reach zero, and then slowly introduce it and hover at the lowest intake possible.

4. Work your mind: By doing mentally taxing things during the day, you will sleep much better at night. This happens because when you exert yourself mentally, you burn through chemicals that help you sleep much deeper. Even better, you increase your intelligence.

5. Accelerate late day metabolic slow down: As the day progresses, your metabolism naturally slows down. If you restrict calories during this time period, you can further increase the effect. This in turn will help you sleep much deeper at night and create a more robust circadian rhythm.

6. Get light: The easiest way to do this is to get a light box and use it for at least thirty minutes every morning upon rising. Alternatively, you could simply go outside for at least thirty minutes, although this may be impractical for many people.

Stronger circadian rhythms will translate into faster fat loss, the research is very clear here. So make sure you take action here sooner rather than later, because later usually never comes!

6 Methods of Long Term Motivation For Losing Weight

There is a surplus of information on how to eat and on how to exercise in order to get in shape. And although a lot of this information is not the best, motivation usually ends up being the nail in most people’s weight loss coffin.

So here are some secrets for staying motivated for the long haul:

1. Have laser specific goals: General goals will lead to general, untargeted behavior. Instead, have laser precise goals so that you can reach them a lot quicker. The last thing you want are ambiguous reasons as to why you are getting in shape.

2. Track the variables: Simply eye balling or making a mental note of your progress will not do here. First, you will not have an accurate way to measure whether or not your program is working. Second, without measuring, you subject yourself to the natural human tendency to overlook progress.

3. Aim for the stars: A small goal will lead to small behavior. Instead, have a gargantuan goal for a gargantuan level of motivation. This is the secret of many successful entrepreneurs. They have such massive visions that people simply flock around them ready to take action.

4. Use a carrot, not a whip: Using coercion and self-flagellation to get you moving may work in the short run, but eventually it will destroy your ability to keep going forward. In fact, political structures that are based on this model always end up failing-your mind is not made to work under these conditions.

5. Set deadlines: You have been conditioned your entire life to respond to deadlines. So why not take advantage of this conditioning to reach your goals? Even better, setting deadlines will prevent you from wasting time on useless minutiae.

6. Understand that you are going to fail: But you aren’t going to fail all the time, so don’t cry, please. You see, nobody can establish a perfect exercise and dieting regimen all the time. There are going to be slip ups. So embrace them and keep moving.

Long term motivation is the secret sauce of those that reach their weight loss goals. And motivation cannot be sold in a pill. So take action here now, don’t wait!

How To Save Time When Preparing Healthy Meals

The one thing that can definitely put the nail in your weight loss coffin is spending all day and night preparing healthy food. On the other hand, if you don’t prepare your own food, losing weight will be like pushing a boulder up a hill with an arthritic knee.

Thus, here are 6 ways to cut down your weight loss meal prep time:

1. Spread out shopping: You want to spread out grocery shopping as much as possible here. Take note of how long it takes for your primary sources of food to perish and purchase accordingly. And make sure you use tools such as Ziploc bags to extend the life of your food.

2. Just forget about whole eggs: Whole eggs have saturated fat, and despite what some experts say there is a huge body of evidence showing the ill effects of this type of fat. So don’t waste your time getting the whites out of eggs. Just buy the cartons of egg whites.

3. Cook in large quantities: This doesn’t work for all the food groups. However, protein sources do lend themselves to quantity cooking and storage. You see, cooked protein does store well over relatively long periods of time.

4. Don’t be afraid to go frozen: Frozen foods are definitely not going to taste as good as fresh foods, but they sure do come close. And frozen foods are ultra convenient because they store well for so long. They are great back up sources or even primary sources if you really want to save time here.

5. Embrace the slow cooker revolution: Analog slow cookers with old fashioned dials are a thing of the past. Now you can get a slow cooker that syncs up to your black berry and/or iPhone. Ok, I’m exaggerating here, but you get the point. There is nothing like set it and forget it cooking.

6. Steam your vegetables with bags: These bags are a great way to have steamed, fresh vegetables in no time. Not only can you reuse them, but you can really reduce clean up by using them. You see, there are no pots or pans or steamers to clean when you bag-steam.

Decreasing the time and energy required to prepare your meals is a great way to increase your chances of weight loss survival. So make sure you act on this information sooner rather than later!

How To Drop Calories Without Dropping Energy

Caloric restriction is an essential part of successful weight loss. It’s a necessary component of any fast weight loss strategy. You just have to make sure the restriction doesn’t rob you of vital energy.

You see, once your energy is gone, you are much more likely to reach for the closest sugar-laden pick-me-up.

So here is how to prevent restricting calories from taking away all your precious energy:

1. Don’t go too low: More caloric restriction isn’t always better here. Instead, make sure you don’t go below 1,500 calories. And never go below 1,200. Once you dip into this dark dieting territory, hormones will not be produced at full capacity and you run the risk of other internal systems being affected.

2. Eat at night: Yes, you should eat at night, just make sure you have little, if any carbs and control caloric load. You see, having some food at night will accelerate recovery and prevent you from being in the fasted state for too long.

3. Stay away from low calorie energy bars: If an energy bar only as 140 calories is does not replace a meal. You see, 140 calories is just not enough energy to sustain you. If needed, have two bars or get one bar that has sufficient calories in it.

4. Don’t be afraid of fat: Yes, fat has calories, but it also boosts fat burning hormones and helps you stay fuller longer. The key here is to make sure that about thirty percent of your calories come from fat and make sure that the fat is not saturated.

5. Increase blood flow: Many times, a lack of energy is a result of poor blood flow, usually caused by remaining stagnant. So if you feel your energy vanishing, simply get up and start moving. You could listen to an audio book while walking, do some cleaning or organizing, etc.

Caloric restriction doesn’t have to be a nail in your energy coffin. As long as you follow the advice in this article, losing weight should be manageable!

How To Bust Out Of Your Plateau

The majority of change in your body will happen when you train on the fringe of your abilities. In other words, the more time you spend training at your limit, the more weight you will lose.

The main issue here, however, is that many people don\’t like pushing themselves to the edge. Instead, they would rather remain within their limits even if it means being stuck with a body they don\’t want.

So here is how to make sure comfort isn\’t preventing you from losing weight:

1. Break out of your routine: We are creatures of habit, and exercise is no exception here. So trying something entirely new may seem daunting and a major pain. But if you venture out of your comfort zone and push your body in ways that it hasn\’t been pushed before, you will notice some major changes.

2. Write down the risks: By quantifying the risks of going to the next level, more often than not, you will notice that they just aren\’t that great. The key here is to not let the risks, or fear, linger in your mind\’s eye. Write them down and they will lose their power.

3. Envision yourself training at the next level: Doing so will not only provide psychological and confidence benefits, but it will also let your nervous system test run the new method without having to physically endure the effort.

4. Don\’t jump into it all at once: If you prefer tackling the next level one step at a time, then by all means do so. This is much better than simply never changing. By doing things one at a time, you will be able to transition with ease.

5. Recruit help: Having a training partner, or at the very least, someone to voice your concerns to can make a world of difference. You see, we are all social beings, and tapping into social support is a great way to overcome new obstacles.

So are you ready to take your workouts to the next level? If you have been training comfortable for some time, it\’s time to change. This is the only way you are going to get the body you want!

4 Dangerous Myths About Supplements

Do you take dietary supplements on a regular basis? If so, you are not alone since more than half of the American population takes supplements to improve their health.

You see, as a nation we spend an absurd amount of money on supplements, to the tune of billions per year.

Unfortunately, a lot of what is sold to the public is under the umbrella of deceptive advertising. We are talking about fake pictures and ridiculous testimonials. Even worse, some supplements are extremely unhealthy.

Thus, here are 4 dangerous myths about supplements:

1. Dietary supplements are 100% safe: Absolutes don\’t exist and supplements are no exception here. In fact, just because a supplement is natural is no guarantee that it\’s completely safe. The reality is that many things exist in nature that are deadly.

2. Supplements are backed by scientific studies: Only prescription drugs need FDA approval. Dietary supplements, on the other hand, do NOT require rigorous FDA testing. Even worse, many of the bar charts and study references found on the packaging are simply ghost studies performed by the manufacturers themselves.

3. They take your health as a top priority: There is a lot of money to be made selling supplements. And when there is so much money at stake, it is very easy for companies to lose sight of ethics. And the supplement industry is no exception here.

4. The placebo effect doesn\’t exist: The placebo effect is real, very real. So just because someone you know swears by a supplement, doesn\’t mean that it\’s safe. Simply taking a sugar pill can make 40% of a group feel an improvement. Now 40% is a huge number. This makes sense, however, since our minds have such great control over our bodies.

The bottom line here is to stay away from all the advertising hype. Instead, stick to what has been proven by clinical trials as being effective. Anything less and you could be putting your health at risk!

Caution: Do Not Do Triceps Dips To Tone Your Arms

You might be having a difficult time choosing the right exercises to get rid of arm fat. If this is the case, rest assured that you’re not the only one.

When did choosing arm exercises become so perplexing? After all, every single guru out there seems to have a different view as to which exercises are the best.

And if the experts have different opinions, how are you supposed to pick the best exercises? In extreme cases, some women will suffer from analysis paralysis because of all the different viewpoints, not good.

Luckily for you, I’ve already gone through all these headaches. And I’m willing to share what I’ve learned along the way.

So without further delay, here is my review of triceps dips:

1. Snapshot: This is the single most recommended exercise for women that want toned arms. And the sad truth is that it’s also one of the most dangerous.

2. Technique snapshot: Place both feet on the floor and your hands on a bench. Make sure your chest stays up while your abs are contracted. Lower your body by bending your arms at the elbow joint. Then push yourself back up in a controlled manner.

3. Frequent mistakes: Using momentum to move the body. Not keeping the elbows locked in place. Letting the back arch out of its natural alignment. And not going all the way up and all the way down.

4. To do or not to do: I recommend staying away from this exercise indefinitely. There is no reason to subject your shoulder joint to the potential strain of this movement. Ignore what everybody else is doing and stay away from this one, seriously.

Injuring your shoulder will set back your mission to get rid of arm fat by many steps. And in some cases it can completely prevent you from reaching said goal. The shoulder joint is very mobile and delicate. So please stay safe for long term success!

5 Myths On How To Tone Up Arms

Learning how to tone up arms for the first time can be somewhat difficult. Especially, if your source of information and guidance is dubious. And many women are lost amongst the sea of information.

How do I know? Because I receive an inordinate amount of questions every day that reveal an epidemic of mass confusion.

But please don’t blame yourself. After all, a lot of the confusion is created by savvy marketers. With endless products comes endless misinformation.

So without further delay, here are 5 myths on how to tone up arms:

1. Working out every day is best. I strongly recommend NOT working out every day. This will leave you burned out, unable to get sleep and absolutely dreading the whole process. Your muscles and nervous system need rest in order to progress.

2. Something is wrong if one arm is stronger than the other. Nothing could be further from the truth, this is perfectly normal. Over time, this discrepancy will begin to fade. Just make sure that you do unilateral movements.

3. I should be able to do 15 repetitions for every set. 15 repetitions is not the magic number to tone up your arms. In fact, you should experiment with much lower repetitions to fully work all your muscle fibers. This will bring you accelerated results.

4. Getting tired during exercise is an indication of overtraining. Do not worry about getting tired when you are pushing yourself. This is normal and beneficial. Beneficial because the more you push yourself the more hormones your body will secrete.

5. Something is wrong since I’m sore 2-3 days after working out. This is perfectly normal and it’s called delayed onset of muscle soreness. In fact, this is a positive sign since it indicates that you had a tough workout. And it will decrease as your diet improves and your recovery abilities improve.

Be wary of all the misinformation out there. Make sure that the information you are digesting is not coming from a questionable source. After all, unlearning something can be harder than learning something new. And if you want to tone up those arms, take action today!
