I don’t know about you, but sorting coupons can be a job unto itself. It’s time consuming, it’s effort intensive, but we all hope it pays off in the end. I don’t know about you, but here is how I keep my coupons neatly so I can actually find them and use them when the time comes.
Whether I use the product or service or not, I tend to cut out every coupon I get. If I don’t use it, I can usually find someone who can, even I hand them out at the grocery store while I’m there.
Obviously, all the coupons need to be kept in one place, but in addition, they need to be segregated so they can be easily found. A serious coupon clipper will never be able to find that cat food coupon at the last minute unless she has a system.
Select a holder that will fit easily into your bag. These are easy to buy at most home based stores, or you can make your own with a small plastic sleeve you can buy at any office supply store. Make some dividers to suit the categories you usually collect.
Every week when I add new ones, I go through them to see if there are expired ones. This is important because if you keep them all, you’ll have so many you won’t be able to find the ones you need.
Keep the coupons with you. Leaving them at home and then trying to plan to take them when you go grocery shopping is a bad idea. Believe me. I learned the hard way. I’d try to make a few stops on the way home from work and before I knew it, I was buying things I knew I had coupons for at home. No more! My coupons go to church, to work, to weddings, and to neighborhood block parties. I just never know!
As for the tabs, don’t even think about having tabs for A-Z (you’ll forget where you put everything), and forget the "misc" category! If you can’t figure out where something goes, find out where it is at the grocery store and file accordingly.
Everyone wants to watch free movies and if you use the Netflix coupon offer, you can too.
