Admit it we are all Disney babies. We grew up loving Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald and the rest of the Disney characters. We have always been amazed how a drawing comes to life and entertain us as kids. Obviously this requires more than imagination. Getting oneself in obtaining an animator career requires more than an artistic skill. It obviously involves imagination and keenest in details. One must be a kid at heart to fulfill his duties as an animator. Think of how kids would enjoy viewing your creation on the big screen.
We have followed Disney movies and shows all our life. We have become fascinated with their ability to imitate a normal human. Animators work hand in hand with professional directors and scriptwriters to come up with such shows. It is not easy task though. It requires commitment to complete. A professional animator is expected to deliver high quality works of art.
One cartoon requires more than one animator. They usually work as a group to keep up with the fast pace construction of characters and backgrounds. Without them the characters would be just an ordinary drawing on paper.
One animator is expected to have artistic hands. He must be able to draw a character or background in keen details. He must have the imagination to follow a storyboard to add uniqueness to each frame. Since he works with a team he must know how to coordinate his thoughts to deliver the requirement for each scene. Nowadays it is important that he has the technical skills to produce worthwhile frames.
It is a worthwhile career. You get to entertain kids and kids at heart. You get to watch your creation come to life in the big screen. Of course you get to earn a lump sum amount of money for one project. The best thing about it is that you get earn during your free time. A lot of companies are opening its doors for freelance artists.
Entering this career might require you more than just the ability to draw. It also requires you to go back to your childhood. The more animated, the more better. Admit or not we are all a kid at heart. We expect the shows to be entertaining and fascinating both at the same time. This career should not be taken for granted.
Learn more than just freely drawing the character in paper. Traditionally an animator draws the frame using pen and paper. Today it would be best to learn how a computer can help you create the characters faster with fewer mistakes.
