Office Cleaning Should Be A Daily Part Of Your Work

Have you ever visited someone at their home to find they lived in dirty conditions? Think about how your image of that person changed immediately after that. The same is true of the office work area. When your clients walk in, you do not want their first impression to be swayed by a dirty office area. Office cleaning should be a part of your work every day.

No one can work efficiently at a desk that is cluttered and disorganized. When you have items scattered all over your desk and in it, you are going to spend a lot of your time looking for necessary things to work with. Imagine what your clients are thinking about you when they see how messy your desk area and office is.

When you spend time and money on cleaning supplies for your office, you may also want to add the supplies you will need for keeping your computer clean as well. Computers will bog down and run slow when they are dusty and dirty. This would be the last thing you or other workers in your office would need, especially on really busy days. Keep a schedule for computer cleaning.

Set aside a time at the end of every workday to clean up your office space. This should become a habit for everyone in an office that has more than one worker in it. When clients walk in, you do not want their first impression to be influenced by a dirty floor or overflowing wastebaskets.

The clean work area is vital to the mood you and other employees in your office. If you are too busy trying to find items you need to work with or things are unkempt as far as dust and dirt goes, you will be thinking of going home more so than working.

Keep things clean and neat while adding fresh flowers and bright colors to the work area. You may be surprised in the difference these simple things will make.

Before making a decision on employing in house cleaners for your office or place of work be sure to take a look at The Mulberry Group they are excellent Contract Cleaners in Liverpool.

It’s Time You Took A Break

Have you ever felt as though your life is just a single huge roller-coaster and that everywhere you go and turn, it just keeps speeding up?

Perhaps your employer’s wanting a lot more from your, or your spouse whines that you work to much and don’t have time for your kids, perhaps your older mom fell not too long ago and is depending on you keeping him or her company and managing his or her affairs. At the end of the day you may have felt you had enough and at a loss what to do, whom to turn to for support and how to let off steam to regain your calmness.

I’ve been teaching yoga for many years now, and my experience tells me that people are so stressed and worried about meeting other people’s demands and expectations that they put their lives into overdrive.

Odds are that if you can identify with even one of the five symptoms we will discuss here, you’re probably already overstressed, worried and taking on too much emotional baggage.

Below are some signals that should alert you to needing a vacation. You’ve always got aches, pains, and headaches. You can’t focus on the job and end up working more. You bring the work back to your house and having feelings of resentment about the effect it has on the relationships that you’ve got. You are lethargic and morose. It takes two times the amount of time to get out of bed, put your feet on the floor and start your day. It seems as though your mojo’s disappeared. You’re ratty and snappy with family members at all times and get irritable and moody with coworkers. Your heart rate is above average. You may find that you frequently have held your breath unknowingly and caused an increase your blood pressure.

If you are experiencing this, how can you relieve the overwhelming worry and stress you are feeling? How can you ease your frustration and continuous demands that you face. What are the ways to remedy and balance your stress?

Chill out and have a break.

All of us require rest, relaxation and some peace of mind. When was the last time you had a couple days off, or a vacation? Vacations may be stressful, particularly if you must meet and juggle your kids’ and spouse’s demands.

Several days’ respite from your usual routine can invigorate you and give you a fresh viewpoint as well. While you’re on vacation, try to take in as much fresh air as you can, go on lots of walks, eat right and drink plenty of water. Use the location to lie down, go to sleep earlier, read a book, do crossword puzzles, or any activity which gets your mind off the problems back home. Getting away for a few days can provide a new perspective, and even though the problem will still be waiting for you at home, the time away can help you figure out how to manage your troubles.

Continually being exposed to stress and not relaxing and resting may result in irreparable health issues, such as high blood pressure, failed relationships, diabetes, etc., and lack of energy are typical effects of being overworked and stressed.

If you feel that life is stressing you out overly, take some time to slow down and relax. Remove yourself from the daily grind, and the things you do on a daily basis to recharge your energy and feel encouraged.

Business Coaching Tip: Stop Losing Profit Through Procrastination

Want to save time and money? Consider getting some good business coaching. Most likely you will have learned in elementary school that procrastination is the thief of time. This often natural inclination to put activities off until later, to avoid jobs that really need to be done but have no deadline is a more common problem than most of us care to acknowledge.

Yet, how fulfilling our existence really could be if we conquered this mental malady. How much less stress would we carry if we did not allow ourselves to be emotionally and mentally weighed down with unfinished tasks hanging over us.

There can be numerous reasons for our procrastination, including negative self talk (“I don’t think I can do this task very well”), being unclear about what is required or even not seeing its relevance.

Whatever our reason is for putting tasks off, we can begin to train our minds to overcome habitual procrastination. Often we need to try the hardest with boring or repetitive tasks. It begins with a commitment to only put one thing off: procrastination itself.

In the corporate world, procrastination is one of the biggest profit drains. With procrastinators, it can be the corridor meeting, surfing the net, or the coffee pot – they all work against inertia. And yet, just creating movement is quite often all that is needed to change the inertia. Motion encourages more motion.

Procrastination isn’t just something that afflicts employees, it also affects business owners – especially when things aren’t going well. To fix procrastination in the workplace, the perfect place to start is with the owner or manager of the business. It’s a bit of a rude-ask to get your team to stop procrastinating if you do it yourself all the time.

If you constantly find that you never seem to complete your tasks on a personal level, or if you own a business and find that your team are always struggling to meet deadlines, you may be well served to secure the services of a business coach who is adept at teaching people to overcome procrastination. Business owners and employees both enjoy the workplace much more when they have learned to self start and overcome procrastination.

Vibrating Alarm Clocks – An Easy Way To Wake Up

Many people have trouble trying to wake up in the mornings. Usually it doesn’t matter too much if you oversleep by just 10 or 15 minutes. Other times there are occasions when it is very important that we wake up on time as there will be things to do.

For example you may be a student who needs to sit a final examination. Arriving late or even missing it all together may harm your degree prospects that you have worked so hard for.

If you are working and stuck in job you don’t particularly enjoy, missing the potentially career changing early morning interview for your perfect dream job that comes up only once in a while can also be very frustrating.

Things aren’t always as dramatic as the examples I just gave. However, whatever job you are in, being punctual will be important in order for you to keep that job.

So, how can you get up easily in the mornings? Really, there are two things that will help. Firstly, get a good nights sleep! The second is to find and purchase a better alarm clock.

Better sleep usually means having a long enough sleep on a comfortable bed and having a regular bed time. Also, it is important to consider the air ventilation, temperature and humidity in the room you are sleeping in.

Secondly and most importantly, you should purchase a good quality alarm clock. Not all alarm clocks are equal and have the same features. A lot of them even aren’t loud enough to wake people up!

Luckily, there is another type of alarm clock, which will combine a loud alarm with strong vibrations in order to shake your bed. This clock can be placed under your pillow, where it will strongly vibrate as will as give off an alarm, when it is time to get up.

A vibrating alarm clock works by making your life lying in bed so unpleasant that getting out of bed is a better alternative. This will work for most people, even the most heavy sleepers. If you think an alarm is bad, try sleeping through a shaking bed!

What is the result? You’re up and out of bed, and ready to face the day.

The College Student and Time Management

Effective college students have essential personal time management skills in place. Students with these essential skills are usually high achievers not only in school but also in life. Good use of time management all but ensures that you will be able to function and handle your college workload even under some of the most intense pressures. Work overload may be a thing of the past once you hone your time management skills and take control of your college responsibilities; therefore, learning some practical time management methods should be at the top of your list.

Just because you are busier now than ever in your life does not mean that ‘being busy’ should be your focus. In fact, this will detract from your effectiveness. You must shift your focus from constantly dwelling on how busy you are to what tasks actually need to get done. Figure out what matters the most and start there; this shift in focus is crucial to your workload accomplishments.

You need to be able to take control of your time by eliminating the areas that are wasting your time and energy. The best way to do this is to set short-term goals in order to accomplish the bigger, long term objectives. You would do this by scheduling your activities in order to take control of your workload and personal life.

Overcome procrastination from the outset. Procrastination can become a way of life and will only stymie and frustrate you. Learn to start projects promptly , set objectives and keep a check-off list as you accomplish each task. This will help prevent completing tasks at the last minute or constantly asking for extensions.

Prioritize tasks in your workload. This is similar to scheduling except that when you prioritize you are putting a value on your tasks. Are they low, medium or high in importance and value? When you are given a new assignment, learn to analyze it for it’s importance and prioritize it accordingly.

Whatever you do, you need an organized system that allows you to handle your workload regardless of the pressures placed on you. Time management skills are the keys to your college success; get serious about effectively managing your time and you will never again have to worry about what needs to get done or where you are going. You will be on your way to knowing your goals, maximizing your effectiveness and winning control of your life and time.

Delegate to Reduce Stress

Respect the person you delegate to. Unless you are in the military (and even there), people respond better if they feel asked and not ordered.

The key to delegation is communication. Communication works best in person. You can read body language and get feedback in person. So if possible, delegate in person.

Delegation is about defining the job and making sure it is understood. Doing this in more than one way is a great idea. Speaking to someone in person (notice I did not say “telling the person”) and then giving them a written note works well. Make sure that you both know the what, when, why, and how of the situation.

People can feel “ordered” to do something if they are delegated to by voicemail or email. So make sure you have very high rapport before you try to do this. It is all about communication. Is it understood.

Courtesy is key. People respond well if they are treated nicely. And it is less stress to be nice. So be nice.

People opinions matter. They are intelligent. They have ideas. They can positively contribute if given a chance. Always ask someone to do something, never demand. “Demanding” does not feel good to the person being “ordered” around.

I like to do a strengths and weaknesses analysis with my people. It is not surprising that there is often a correlation between those and likes and dislikes and does well and needs help. By using people within their strengths, you can often get major returns.

Just like new technology, sometimes there is a learning curve. And sometimes this learning curve costs time in the short term but pays dividends in the future.

Attitude is everything! Respect and courtesy makes delegation a useful tool for you, and makes it less of a chore for others.

Feedback is key. Remember, it is all about communication and feedback is a critical part of that loop. Invite it.

Feedback includes thanks. People who are appreciated deliver more. You want people to have high self esteem. They perform better and are happier. And it is more fun to work with happy people.

Six Simple Tips For Staying Organized

Here’s some good news-staying organized is a lot simpler than getting organized. Follow these six tips and you’ll keep things in good order indefinitely.

1) Put it Away, Don’t Just Put it Down – This is the staying organized Golden Rule. Resist the temptation to just drop it on the desk – make sure you put it in the place you’ve designated for it. Just the couple of extra seconds it takes to put in back in it’s place will save you time in the long run.

2) One Item In, One Item Out – If a new item comes into your home, one older item should be tossed, donated, or sold.

3) Make Sure Everything Has a Place – Find a reasonable “home” for new things –and keep them there.

4) Do a Seasonal Clean Sweep – Four times a year, take an inventory of your house and garage, with a laundry basket in hand. Look at each item you own and ask yourself:

Is this item useful to me now or will it be in the near future?

Is this item important or meaningful to me?

If the answer to both questions is “no,” then you should probably discard, sell, or donate the item. Repair the things that need repair and return them to their proper places.

5) Police Your Closet — Take a good, hard look at everything in your closet and ask:

Does it fit?

Is it in good condition?

Is the item in style?

If there are items in your closet that do not pass all three questions in this test, they should be tossed, donated, or sold. If your weight tends to fluctuate a bit, keep a separate section in your closet for items that you are sure will fit in the future.

6) Get a free Home Organization e-Solutions Kit – It’s full of ideas and tips that will inspire you to, not only get organized, but to stay organized too. It’s available at http://www.ClearSimpleLiving.com.

The Benefits Of Using Employee Schedule Software

For workplaces that make use of numerous varying schedules, it can be useful to have something to keep everything organized. A great way to do this is to use employee schedule software. The software comes in different styles and makes scheduling much easier than before. If this seems like an idea that may be helpful, consider some of the following points about the software.

This option can be of great help not only to employers, but also to employees as well. The employers can use the software to organize various schedules at work and notify the workforce. Shifts can be arranged and edited conveniently and quickly. If you have multiple employees that are working shifts, this can also be noted in the scheduling software as well. Allowing employees access to the software afterward makes sure that everyone is up to date on any changes in the schedule.

For employees this can be great for gaining extra shifts or switching shifts with someone. Many employees would rather handle shift matters via a log in from a site or the software itself instead of having to call their work to try to change their schedule or find out what a current schedule is. The use of the software also ends the problem of losing any schedules that have previously been printed out or dealing with missed voice mails updating shifts.

If you are concerned about keeping track of days or hours that have been worked, the software can be used to note this information as well. This can be useful if you need this information for any documentation for your business. Employees can enjoy this feature because it makes it easier for those who have to fill out their own time sheets or other paperwork associated with hourly information.

Typical price can vary depending on the style of the software that is chosen. In most cases the employer will pay for the use of the software for the company. However, if the employees also need to use it as required by their job, then they may have to pay a portion of the price as well. It depends on the policies of the company involved overall.

In consideration of the many options that are available with employee schedule software, it is important to examine their different strengths and weaknesses. This can be used to help you decide which titles will be best for your job or business. When you have narrowed it down to a few different types, you can begin to consider comparing prices for good value.

Clearly, the use of such software is beneficial to everyone involved, whether they are an employer or an employee. Since it allows everyone to view the schedule clearly or alter it, there is no question about when shifts end or begin. This means no confusion about schedule changes and less missed days in the schedule for workers at their jobs.

The above are just some general reasons that employee schedule software can be of great use to anyone in the workforce. There are numerous styles available with multiple uses, so it is important to consider the options thoroughly. If you believe that it could be a beneficial option at your job, consider doing some research to find the software that is best for your company.

Make the scheduling of your human resources efficient and a breeze by using online employee scheduling that enables you to communicate work schedules to all of your employees. Our employee schedule maker will streamline human resources for your company.

Arrange Your Time Well

It is a common sight to see many complaining about the time limitations. Many people desire to have more than 24 twenty four hours in a day. This is because of the unending work we all seem to face in the present time. However, more than always, the explanation behind this is that we are not able to control the available time effectively. Handling time is of essential signification when it comes to handling things effectively and successfully. Let’s have a look at some of the measures that can help you manage time in the best demeanor.

Set out the roles that you want to do. When setting out jobs, divide them on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Once you have listed out everything you need to do, put them in the order of priority. Start off by doing the most urgent things first. So, whether or not you’re unable to do some of the unimportant tasks, you will not have to worry much.

Find out how to delegate jobs. Most people tend to overburden themselves with all sorts of work and finish up completing not one of them. You can prevent this by getting somebody to share your responsibilities. For instance, if you are cooking for your folks, ask another relation to get the groceries. This can make your roles quicker and permit you to manage time more effectively.

Try avoiding diversions when you are concerned in work. You’ll only be able to put in your 100%, if your concentration isn’t diverted by anything more. And, with the proper amount of focus, you will be ready to work more efficiently and at a quicker speed. Thus avoid telephone calls or checking forwarded mails while at work. If you are working from home, don’t do your tasks near a television set or a room where you have guests and others, busy speaking to one another.

Set aside some time for unforeseen eventualities. Regardless of how arranged you are, a surprising event can happen at anytime and seriously disrupt your schedule. You could find yourself stuck in traffic or having to deal with some unexpected issues at work. So, putting aside time for such events will make sure that there’s not any major lapse in your plans.

Last but not the least, it is essential to exercise discipline. It is necessary to understand that you have to pay close attention to both- your family and your work. Try not to intermix the 2 as family time is family time while the work means only work. So, if you’re at your workplace getting your work done, do not thing about shopping for groceries that you have to do. Similarly, do not bring your work files at home. Set clear cut demarcation about these two required and important aspects of your life. This will help you handle the time restrictions better.

It is critical to make note of the fact that time management doesn’t come easily. It requires a lot of practice and patience to meet the purpose efficiently. All you need to do is to make use of the given tips and be certain that you will be surely able to make the ideal use of your time. This in turn won’t make you bitch that the day just has twenty-four hours in it.
