An average size lemon contains approximately 61 calories that come for the most part from its natural sugars, which is not such a good thing. However, do not let that little fact discourage you from including lemons in your diet. These attributes are the same whether with or without the peel. <p>To squeeze or not to squeeze</p>
<p>All of the good beneficial qualities of the lemon are still found in frozen concentrate juice, or in canned lemon juice or in the bottle form including Folate and Thiamin. The calorie content is around 51 calories per service size. It&#8217;s when you make a delicious lemon meringue pie that your calorie counter will go berserk, since one slice alone contains around 360 calories.</p>
<p>Practical uses of lemons</p>
<p>Lemons can be used for more than their flavor. For instance, to make your water alkaline in order to help your pH body balance, just a generous squeeze of a fresh lemon will do the job. Whenever they are peeled or sliced, apples and avocados tend to brown in the blink of an eye. By rubbing a sliced lemon on them, the fruit will be kept looking fresh and beautiful.</p>
<p>If you want to get more juice from a lemon, then don&#8217;t squeeze it immediately after you got it out from the fridge. Let it sit and adjust to room temperature and then start rolling it on the cutting board, applying a bit of pressure on it with your hand. <p>Stress can also play a major role in the slowing of hair growth.  In extreme cases high levels of stress have actually resulted in massive hair loss.  The best thing is to be a calm as possible.  It is important that you limit stressful situations whenever you can.</p>
<p>When you find yourself in a stressful situation is important that you deal with it in a healthy way.  I used to be stressed out a lot until I had the realization that most problems weren&#8217;t as big as I made them appear. <p>I have found that the things I used to worry about in reality were not very important in the big scheme of things. The vast majority of these concerns never came to fruition and if they did they weren&#8217;t near as bad as I had thought they would be.</p>
<p>Dealing with stress was one of the most important lessons from my quest to learn how to make your hair grow faster naturally.  The next most important was diet and exercise. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The phrase road trip makes just about anyone roll their eyes and begin telling stories of the times spent in the car forced to sit between their great grandmother and teenage sibling. When I think of road trips I can&#8217;t help but think of Clark W. Griswold tying his dead great-aunt to the roof of his family station wagon.</p>
<p>That movie has made families laugh for many years because it perfectly depicts a family road trip&#8230;funny experiences are waiting behind every turn with lodging, the car, or the food. I recall road trips from my youth fueled by Twinkies and Ho-Ho&#8217;s and McDonalds. My memories are of long days, late nights and a set of parents fried from the four fighting offspring in the back seat.</p>
<p>Fast forward twenty some years and picture my Subaru, the cargo carrier, the cooler, the dog, the backpacks, the books, and the snacks. Road trips still include some late nights, long days and always a set of parents fried from the two offspring in the back seat attempting to make each other as uncomfortable as possible.</p>
<p>My question is why we pack the cooler for the destination versus the journey? It doesn&#8217;t take much space to add some fun and healthy picnic-like options to the cooler. It&#8217;s so much easier to avoid fast food pit stops when you have great food choices right in your back seat. Here are a few tips on how to make that happen:</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important to avoid blood sugar crashing empty calorie foods. You don&#8217;t want these items taking up precious space in your cooler:</p>
<p>*	Candy</p>
<p>*	Soda</p>
<p>*	White flour products ( if going with bagels, go whole grain or pumpernickel)</p>
<p>Stock up beforehand with the following (or similar) items:</p>
<p>*	Water</p>
<p>*	Cheese sticks</p>
<p>*	Crackers ( whole wheat or gluten free)</p>
<p>*	Fresh fruit ( which you can purchase pre-cut at almost any grocery store to save on time)&#8230;.apples and pears work well as they&#8217;re not too messy and can be cut into slices beforehand and sprinkled with lemon juice to keep from browning.</p>
<p>*	Fresh produce: mini carrots, celery sticks, bell pepper strips, etc.</p>
<p>*	Mini packets of natural peanut butter such as Justin&#8217;s</p>
<p>*	Whole wheat pita bread holds sandwich contents nicely</p>
<p>*	Rice cakes</p>
<p>*	Nuts and seeds</p>
<p>*	Pre-packaged trail mix packets (Trader Joe&#8217;s carries perfectly sized packets for kids)</p>
<p>*	Organic Valley milk in aseptic containers, Rice Dream carries small juice-box sized cartons for Rice Milk as well</p>
<p>*	If you&#8217;re up to it, go ahead and bake some whole grain muffins or cookies as a special treat. Remember to use alternative sweeteners such as applesauce and real maple syrup.</p>
<p>*	Air popped popcorn with a little coconut oil and salt make for a tasty treat everyone will enjoy</p>
<p>*	Granola bars-home made or purchased. Watch the sugar content here.</p>
<p>*	Dried fruit&#8230;this will also help keep everyone &#8220;on schedule&#8221; for potty breaks as you&#8217;re limited on activity with long road trips.</p>
<p>Other essentials to pack:</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll want to pack a few other items to make your road trip as comfortable as possible. When you pull over to fuel up the car, you&#8217;ll want to find a spot towards the edge of the parking lot near a square of grass. Pull out a picnic blanket and a few jump ropes to soak in some fresh air and get rid of the nervous energy that piles up after long hours in the car. You&#8217;ll find these items to be of help to you:</p>
<p>*	jump ropes ( not JUST for the kids!)</p>
<p>*	picnic blanket</p>
<p>*	baseball and glove</p>
<p>*	chalk (in a corner of the parking lot, draw lines on the asphalt such as for a relay race or sprints and challenge each other for who can run back and forth in the least amount of time!)</p>
<p>A word about treats:</p>
<p>I was a kid once, too, and though I think we had many more treats than we needed, I always take into consideration what treats mean for my kids and when and how to bring them out. Being on the road for long periods of time is tough on everyone, even with exciting scenery, audio stories and DVD players. Sometimes sugar free gum isn&#8217;t enough to tide a child over for one more hour. Though bribery is a fine line, we all know when to pull out the tricks needed to bar off one more question of, &#8220;are we there yet?&#8221; Having a couple things tucked out of view might be a good idea. I might include all natural licorice, sugar &amp; HFCS free lollipops or perhaps a small bag of M&amp;M&#8217;s&#8230;goodness knows what I&#8217;d do for a few peanut M&amp;M&#8217;s myself!</p>
<p>It is also good to remember that food doesn&#8217;t have to be the only thing we consider treats. Perhaps we&#8217;ve downloaded a few extra audio stories or brought home videos of Christmas at grandma&#8217;s house to play on the DVD player to buy a little time. Maybe each child gets a new set of crayons or colored pencils, stickers or beeswax to keep little hands busy and voices to a whisper.</p>
<p>You will reap the benefits of a more harmonious road trip by implementing some of these ideas&#8230;though sibling rivalry will be what it is&#8230;maybe, for a little humor, the parent who drives the longest is granted a special set of ear plugs! <p>What&#8217;s the solution? Well, it comes down to making changes in your daily habits. Before you continue reading, remember that knowledge not acted upon is worthless. So please put this to use. You can reasonably expect to feel much better in about a week or two.</p>
<p>Drink lots of water &#8211; Do you realize 55% &#8211; 60% of the human body&#8217;s makeup is water? If that was all you knew, it should be enough to get you to drink more water. It&#8217;s obviously vital to healthy body function. But also keep in mind that the kidneys need adequate water to work efficiently. They remove toxins from the blood. So if they don&#8217;t function as well as they should, those toxins can then begin to accumulate. If too many toxins are in your system sluggishness results. Toxins can also cause sickness and disease. If you are not an active individual, drinking at least 12 ounces with every meal or snack (5-6 per day) should do the job. If you are active (which of course you should be), about a gallon a day should do the trick.</p>

<p>Do you like to eat breakfast? Chances are, you do and if you do, then there is no better breakfast to be had in the United States of America than at Loveless Motel in Nashville. It is a little bit of a trek from the main part of the city, about a 25 minute drive outside of the city, but the drive is scenic and the food is that good. The place is well known for their biscuits and fried chicken and is the best brunch I&#8217;ve ever had.</p>
<p>Sorry just some more thoughts on the Loveless biscuits. They are worth the trip to Nashville alone. Ok, maybe not, but they are the best biscuits that I&#8217;ve ever had, and every one of my southern friends agrees. That&#8217;s got to count for something.</p>
<p>Another great breakfast establishment is Pancake Pantry in Hillsboro village. This pancake house has about20 different types of pancakes, and they are all delicious. The place is notorious for its long lines, so be prepared to wait about a half hour if you go. Trust me though, its worth it.</p>
<p>Downtown Nashville is unlike any other city. The bright lights, country music, karaoke music help create a unique atmosphere. If you find yourself in downtown Nashville, be sure to visit Printer&#8217;s Alley, an off the beaten path alley with great bars. The Hard Rock Caf is also located downtown and is situated right along the Cumberland River.</p>
<p>The Grand Ole Opry is a Nashville staple and if you want to see live country music, there is no better venue for it. Every legendary singer has played here, from Johnny Cash to Hank Williams, and if there&#8217;s a show while you&#8217;re in town, it is worth checking out.</p>
<p>Vanderbilt University is another selling point of Nashville. The campus is a ten minute drive from downtown Nashville and is a beautiful area. If you are into nature or trees, another selling point is that Vanderbilt is a national arboretum.</p>

<p>Researchers at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that for every 10 milligram increase in the vitamin B6 intake and for every 10 microgram increase in vitamin B12 there was a 2 percent per year decrease in the risk of developing depression symptoms.<br />
Previous studies have associated a lower risk of infection to vitamin B intake. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Like many of you readers, I have been bombarded with the word &#8220;Green.&#8221; I actually enjoy it, and find it fascinating to see how many mainstream corporations have embraced the term since its inception (although I am slightly concerned that, like many trends, this will fade). In terms of the Green movement, some folks in the general public seem not to be interested, and will not change. Others are waiting for more information and may linger on the fence as to how they feel about the issue. And then there are those of us who are so bought in that we cannot wait to see what the next step in the Green movement is!</p>
<p>Forgive my digression; this isn&#8217;t about politics, corporations, or even a distinct call to action. This article is intended to simply serve as a guide to help those who want to be more green on their next outdoor vacation, to do just that!</p>
<p>1. You will not believe the number of times that I, as an outfitter, have seen groups of friend who hail from the same neighborhood arrive in a caravan of SEPARATE VEHICLES. There are many reasons why individuals may want to drive separately, and many of these reasons are valid. But all too often, people just do not think to go the eco-friendly route and carpool. For larger parties who are rafting, or traveling elsewhere together, busing could be a great option. Some of the outfitters have great discounts available. Last year I had a deal with a luxury bus company where individuals in a party of 44 or less could travel from Southern California to the American River for as little as $36 per person! There are many great things about this &#8211; you are traveling with friends, you have access to DVD players and a bathroom, and someone else is doing the driving. This is a nice, easy way to reduce your carbon footprint.</p>
<p>2. Cook with propane. If you have the ability to use a propane barbeque rather than charcoal, do so. Propane burns cleaner. This is a tough one, because the taste of charred cooking is so good. However, there are studies that suggest that the stuff coming off the charcoal is not great for your health, so now you have two reasons to reconsidered charcoal.</p>
<p>3. Sunblock is a necessity if you are on the river or anywhere in the sun. Some experts debate on whether or not sunblock is good for your skin, but one would be hard-pressed to find evidence disputing that the chemicals are damaging the ocean&#8217;s coral reefs. While there are no reefs located in the river, it is still responsible to look for organic or all-natural sunblocks that do not contain the following: PABA, octinoxate, oxybenzone, 4-methylbenzylidene camphor and the preservative butylparaben. Why? Because over six MILLION gallons of sunblock are dumped into the world&#8217;s oceans each year, just from swimmers!</p>
<p>4. If you love water and all the recreation that it can bring, you may want to invest in your own vest. Apparently we cannot call them &#8220;life&#8221;-vests any longer because there is no guarantee they can save a life (and someone somewhere sued). So in the industry, we call them Personal Flotation Devices or PFDs for short. But regardless of what you call that thing that buckles around your mid section and provides you with flotation, you have some choices to make. If you want to go as green as possible, you might want to look into Astral, as they use a completely recyclable foam. This is easier on the earth and easier to process. Not to mention that their vests have a good reputation!</p>
<p>5. Shop locally, shop organically. Have you gone organic yet? We have at my home. When you do, here&#8217;s something you&#8217;ll learn very quickly: food spoils far faster. After this initially happened, we paused, scratched our heads and asked: what the heck is in the other food that lets it last so darn long? Buying organic means, for the most part, that your food has traveled less distance to get to you and thus has a smaller carbon footprint. In many cases the products used to grow the food are far better for the earth, and the animals are treated better.</p>
<p>6. How&#8217;s this: By going on a whitewater rafting trip, you&#8217;re automatically greener! Getting down a river requires human power, not electric or fuel-run engines.</p>
<p>7. One of the biggest changes we can make, whether on vacation or not, is to dump this habit of buying plastic water bottles. Instead, look for reusable water containers. It is very important to hydrate, especially when active, like whitewater rafting. My favorite container is glass &#8211; the breakage factor often makes me chose something else, but when the benefit outweighs the chance of breakage, I opt for glass. Switching to metal or even glass bottles is an excellent positive move. <p>This morning I got on the scale a bit later than I normally do. I figure it&#8217;s alright though because I hadn&#8217;t eaten anything yet. My daughter was sick in the night so it threw me off my morning schedule.</p>
<p>But I did go down a pound. I&#8217;m at 154. That&#8217;s a total of 17 pounds of weight loss so far. Not bad, right? I&#8217;m pretty impressed with the results. I was told that the average weight loss ranged from 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per day with men experiencing the higher averages. (Isn&#8217;t that just annoyingly typical?) So far I&#8217;m pretty dang close to those fabulous weight loss averages so I&#8217;m happy.</p>
<p>I ran across a few HCG Diet Direct reviews on the computer today (I&#8217;m a total Internet surfers) and I decided the I should leave one or two of my own.
